Good Morning!
As part of our Halloween fun, we began our day with the spiderweb greeting. After greeting a friend, students tossed a ball of yarn to create a spider web. We ended our greeting by tossing a spider friend in the center. Score!

Partner Work
We read the book The Napping House by Audrey & Don Wood. Students worked with a partner to create the story characters and setting. They will use the Puppet Pals app to retell the story. Stay tuned!
Taking a Virtual field trip to the buffalo bill center of the west!
With the help of Ms. Williams, our technology coach, the boys and girls in room 126 took a virtual field trip called "Amazing Animal Adaptations". We Skyped with two naturalists who work at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West located near Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. While Skyping, we traveled through four habitats in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem – the alpine, forest, mountain meadow, and plains/basin environments. We visited some museum exhibits that highlighted animals in each of these unique habitats. The students compared the adaptations of animals like a grizzly bear, beaver, and raptor to animals in our own region. The boys and girls also shared some research they had done about animals in our community with the naturalists. It truly was an amazing animal adventure!
pony bead place value
Do we have enough beads to make a garland? The garland needs to have 300 beads. The boys and girls set out to solve this problem! We determined that we could count much faster if we organized our beads into groups of 10. Then we organized our tens into groups of one hundred. After counted all of our hundred groups, we discovered we had enough beads to make 5 garlands with some leftovers to spare!
